Led by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa – Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, brings together experts from several European countries who will work to find ways to detect PFAS (perfluoroalkylated and polyfluoroalkylated substances) that are highly persistent, mobile and harmful to the environment. The emission of F-gases into the atmosphere and their degradation lead to the pollution of water and soil through acid rain and in turn the degradation of PFAS in soil and water leads to fluorinated gases that are emitted into the atmosphere. This is a cycle of environmental pollution that we have to fight.
